XL hires former Zurich execs for equipment breakdown business

NEW YORK—XL Group P.L.C.’s North America Property Insurance has added two executives specializing in equipment breakdown issues to its underwriting team, the insurer announced Friday.
Brian Strain will serve as senior vp and head of equipment breakdown business. He most recently served as vp and regional manager of boiler and machinery at Zurich North America. Cheryl Geidel has been named vp-equipment breakdown. She most recently served as vp-technical underwriting for boiler and machinery at Zurich North America.
Both report to Joseph Tocco, head of XL's North America Property unit and will work to develop XL's equipment breakdown coverage products.
