<i>Business Insurance</i> announces Buyers Choice Awards winners

Eight insurance industry companies have been named winners of Business Insurance's inaugural Buyers Choice Awards.

The winners were determined by a survey of risk managers and other executives with responsibility for buying insurance and risk management services. The survey, which was conducted by independent market research firm Erdos & Morgan, asked respondents to select insurance industry companies they would most recommend to peers based on a variety of attributes related to service and expertise.

Survey responses were tallied and organized by size of respondent as either large or mid-market buyers.

The Buyers Choice Awards survey process not only provides insights into which insurance industry companies are most recommended by customers, but also details the attributes that buyers most value in their insurance and insurance services providers.

The winning companies are:

• Aon Corp.

• Chartis Inc.

• Chubb Corp.

• FM Global

• Gallagher Bassett Services Inc.

• Marsh Inc.

• Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc.

• Willis Group Holdings P.L.C.

In our Nov. 28 edition, we'll profile the top-ranked companies, reveal which awards they won and review some of the highlights of the survey findings on the service and expertise attributes that buyers value most.

The Buyers Choice Awards replace the Readers Choice Awards that Business Insurance previously presented, which were based on voting by the magazine's readership.

Business Insurance will be holding an awards event at the W Hotel in Chicago on Nov. 29 to recognize the top-ranked companies and to share some of the insights from the survey.
