BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

LONDON—The British Insurance Brokers Assn. and the Institute of Insurance Brokers have merged.

London-based BIBA and Higham Ferrers, England-based IIB announced Tuesday that the merged entity will retain the BIBA name and that several of IIB's board directors will join BIBA's board.

BIBA has about 1,800 member firms, while the IIB represents about 1,000 smaller brokerages.

Barbara Bradshaw, CEO of the IIB, will become a member of BIBA’s executive board with a specific responsibility to develop a group focused on the issues affecting smaller brokerage firms, the two bodies said in a statement.

“One association, and one voice, will add strength to our lobbying campaigns on the big issues affecting our members,” said Eric Galbraith, CEO of BIBA, in the statement.
