Lockton names health risk manager for Southeast U.S.

ATLANTA—Lockton Cos. L.L.C. has named Valerie Houghton as health risk manager for its Southeast U.S. operations

In this capacity, Ms. Houghton will help employers evaluate, implement and measure the effectiveness of corporate wellness initiatives, Lockton said Tuesday in a statement.

Ms. Houghton is a registered and licensed dietician whose global career has exposed her to cultural diversity affecting employee attitudes toward health and wellness, said Stan Shaffer, chief operating officer of Lockton Southeast in Atlanta.

“She will help our clients create engaging programs that help their employees get healthier while reducing costs,” he said in the statement.

Prior to joining Lockton, Ms. Houghton served as a nutritional consultant at an International SOS emergency medical clinic in Baku, Azerbaijan.

She also has worked in health and nutrition in the United Arab Emirates and as director of patient services in London for ARAMARK Healthcare, a division of Philadelphia-based ARAMARK Corp. that provides facility, food services and clinical support to hospitals and health care organizations.
