Aon eSolutions launches cloud computing platform

CHICAGO—Aon eSolutions, the technology solutions business of Chicago-based Aon Corp., has launched a cloud computing platform for risk, insurance and safety management application users.

RIScloud is a community cloud where the entire technology environment is managed and controlled by Aon eSolutions, the insurance brokerage said Monday in a statement.

RIScloud is the next generation of cloud computing for Aon eSolutions, which has been offering such services since 2001, according to the statement.

“With RIScloud, Aon eSolutions alone is fully accountable to our hosted clients, including their compliance needs,” Paul Holden, chief information officer of Aon eSolutions, said in the statement. “This means we are not only helping our clients meet today's regulations, we are looking ahead to identify regulations on the horizon and implement those standards ahead of time.”

www.aon-esolutions.com/riscloud RIScloud provides contractual service-level agreements such as data hosting, transmission, application metrics, external certifications, regulatory compliance and data security privacy, according to the statement.

“With all of the noise out there, it is tempting to think that a cloud is a cloud is a cloud,” Kathleen Burns, CEO of Aon eSolutions, said in the statement. “We encourage the community to evaluate its cloud options as rigorously as they would any risk scenario,” she said.
