Medical Professional Liability Co. adds Aspen syndicate, increases limits for D&O

GIBRALTAR—The Medical Professional Liability Co., a Gibraltar-based Lloyd’s of London coverholder, has added Aspen Managing Agency Ltd.’s syndicate 4711 to its directors and officers underwriting facility and increased limits for the coverage.

Aspen joins Pembroke Managing Agency Ltd.’s syndicate as an underwriter of the coverage. Limits for the D&O coverage have been increased to £15 million ($23.7 million).

The addition of Aspen and the increase in limits will allow MPLC, a specialty insurance provider for the health care market, to “increase our appetite in both the commercial and financial sectors and expand upon our existing D&O and individual director liability insurance contracts,” John Young, managing director at MPLC, said in a statement.
