NEW YORKAmerican International Group Inc. said Monday that Sid Sankaran has been named senior vp and chief risk officer
Mr. Sankaran succeeds Robert Lewis in the role, who last month said he would retire from AIG after a transition period.
Mr. Sankaran, whose appointment was effective Monday, joins the New York-based insurer from Oliver Wyman Financial Services, where he was a partner in the finance and risk practice and headed the firm’s Toronto office.
He also was a member of Oliver Wyman’s global management committee, working the past five years with financial services executives on risk management issues.
