BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Insurance data provider increases European storm loss estimate

ZURICH—PERILS A.G., a Zurich-based catastrophe insurance data provider, has increased its estimate of insured losses from Windstorm Xynthia in Europe to €1.3 billion ($1.65 billion).

The loss estimate is the third that PERILS has issued since the Feb. 27-March 1 storm and is a 2.4% increase from its most recent estimate in May.

Xynthia caused widespread damage and 63 fatalities across Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and parts of the southeast United Kingdom.
