California State Fund names president, CEO

SAN FRANCISCO—Thomas E. Rowe has been named president and CEO of California’s State Compensation Insurance Fund, the San Francisco-based insurer announced Tuesday.

He joins State Fund from T. Rowe Strategies, a property/casualty consulting firm, the insurer said. His experience also includes nearly 25 years at Novato, Calif.-based Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co., where he was president of a commercial insurance division.

Mr. Rowe replaces Jan Frank, who left State Fund in October 2009.
