XL Group completes redomestication to Ireland

HAMILTON, Bermuda—XL Group P.L.C. has completed its previously announced redomestication to Ireland from the Cayman Islands, the insurer announced Thursday.

In addition, as previously announced, the name of the insurance and reinsurance company has become XL Group P.L.C., previously XL Capital Ltd.

The company announced its intention to redomesticate and change its name in January. At the time, XL CEO Mike McGavick said the redomestication would not affect XL’s operations in Hamilton, Bermuda.

XL will continue to be registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and will be subject to SEC reporting requirements.
