E&S market gaining efficiency

Posted On: Apr. 13, 2010 12:00 AM CST

Think the excess and surplus lines market is inefficient due to lack of industry standards and duplicate data entry?

The IIABA's Agents Council for Technology, AAMGA, NAPSLO and ACORD certainly think so, which is why they collaborated to form the Retail Agent--E&S Initiative about two years ago to encourage the use of ACORD standards and more automation among all parties involved.

Their efforts are begining to pay off and they are hosting a free Webinar on Monday April 19 to dicuss them.

Titled "Industry Initiatives to Improve the Efficiency of the E&S Market Make Progress," the Webinar will discuss, among other topics, the use of ACORD standard applications, development of standard E&S supplements, electronic importing of data to avoid duplicate data entry and download.

Interested parties can register for the Webinar, which will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. EDT, here.
