BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

About a year ago, Aon Consulting Worldwide set out to build a team of top experts in Asia, a corner of the globe where as business booms, so does the need for innovation and expertise in the area of employee benefits.

Today, the global human capital consulting firm has recruited six top industry professionals to cover the growing Asian market, said Chief Executive Officer Andrew Appel.

It is that commitment to find the right people that has helped consulting firm succeed.

With 6,800 professionals in 117 offices around the world, Chicago-based Aon Consulting is on a mission to become the top firm dealing with issues such as outsourcing, compensation and workforce strategies, Mr. Appel said.

This has earned it the honor of best employee benefit consulting firm in Business Insurance's 2007 Readers Choice Awards competition.

"We've been very proactive about communicating what we do," Mr. Appel said. "We have a nice mix of entrepreneurism and industry capabilities....We are very focused on becoming the best benefits consultant in the world."

If he had to choose one aspect of Aon Consulting's strong grasp on employee benefits consulting that helps corner the market, Mr. Appel points to the company's staff of highly qualified professionals.

"You can't do bad with great people, super-quality people with industry capabilities especially in benefits," he said.

"We have a very large cadre of expertise and we have scale," he said. "We differentiate ourselves on three things: We are going to be the firm that focuses on value and the impact that we have...we are going to be the one bringing the new ideas, ways to (improve), and the innovations...and we value relationships."

One of the company's hallmarks is its focus on collaborating with clients, he said. "We've invested a lot in our relationships," he said.
