BURLINGTON, Vt.—A mix of captive owners, service pro-viders and regulators flocked to Burlington, Vt., for the annual Vermont Captive Insurance Assn. meeting, held Aug. 7-9.

This year's meeting—the largest yet in the conference's 22-year history—drew more than 1,350 attendees and 95 exhibitors. Attendees hailed from 40 states and the District of Columbia, as well as 11 countries. Approximately 26% of attendees were captive owners, VCIA staff estimated.

The schedule included about 65 speakers with author and psychiatrist Dr. Ned Hallowell featured as the keynote.

Next year, the conference will return Aug. 12-14 to the Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center. For more information, go to www.vcia.com/annualconference/.
