Brown & Brown purchases Texas MGA group

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--Brown & Brown Inc. has acquired the assets of the Combined Group of Cos. of Carrollton, Texas, the Daytona Beach, Fla.-based brokerage said Thursday.

The acquisition includes The Combined Group Inc., CIA Managing General Agency Inc., Combined Independent Agencies Inc., Combined Premium Finance Inc., Anchor Claims Management Inc., Anchor Risk Management Services Inc., Case Integration Administrators Inc., Quote Express Inc. and Quantum Integrated Systems Inc.

The Combined Group of Cos., with aggregate annualized revenues of $12.6 million, primarily operate as managing general agencies specializing in Texas nonsubscriber workers compensation insurance and small-account standard lines and excess and surplus property, liability and package policies, Brown & Brown said in a statement.

The Combined Group agencies will continue to operate from their existing offices in Texas as freestanding Brown & Brown operations, Brown & Brown said.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
