Argo Group names president of reinsurance unit

HAMILTON, Bermuda--Andrew Carrier will become president of Argo Group International Holding Ltd.'s Peleus Reinsurance Ltd. unit in December, Argo Group announced Tuesday.

Peleus Re is a Hamilton, Bermuda-based reinsurance operation that was licensed in March.

Mr. Carrier has been the active underwriter for the Kiln Group's Catastrophe Syndicate 557 at Lloyd's of London. He has also served as chairman of Lloyd's International Reinsurance Committee and was a member of Lloyd's Underwriting Advisory Committee.

Argo Group International Holdings was created by the merger of Argonaut Group Inc. with PXRE Group Inc., a merger that became final Tuesday.
