BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Brit reorganizes underwriting and claims arms

Reprints

LONDON— Brit Insurance Holdings P.L.C. is making changes to its underwriting and claims functions in a restructuring aimed at furthering its growth.

The London-based insurance and reinsurance group also named chief executive officers for three of its strategic business units. The newly named executives are Mike Sibthorpe in the global markets unit, Jonathan Turner in Brit reinsurance and Peter Burrows in the Brit United Kingdom unit.

The underwriting advisory forum will operate as an independent body providing strategic underwriting advice to the group's senior management and board. The claims function has been divided into two specialist units - a U.K. claims department and a global markets and reinsurance claims division.
