ACE opens Peruvian office

NEW YORK--ACE Ltd. announced Friday that it has begun conducting business in Peru as ACE Seguros S.A.

Lima, Peru-based ACE Seguros specializes in accident, group, credit life and commercial property/casualty insurance, and has more than 700,000 customers according to ACE.

ACE Seguros consists primarily of the insurance operations of Altas Cumbres Life Insurance Co., which ACE acquired in December 2006 from Grupo Altas Cumbres of Chile.

Peruvian regulators gave ACE permission to operate in the country as ACE Seguros last month.
