Duperreault to chair IIS

BERLIN, Germany— Brian Duperreault, former non-executive chairman of ACE Ltd., will succeed Karl Wittmann as chairman of the International Insurance Society Inc.

At the New York-based IIS' annual conference in Berlin, Germany, Monday, Mr. Wittmann said he would be stepping down from the post of chairman of the board of directors.

Mr. Wittmann, who late last year retired from the board of management of Munich Reinsurance Co., said he believed the society's chairman should be an active member of the industry.

About 500 insurance executives are attending the IIS conference, which runs through Wednesday.
