Guy Carpenter names global risk leader

NEW YORK--Joan Lamm-Tennant has been named global chief economist and risk strategist at Guy Carpenter & Co. L.L.C., the reinsurance broker announced Wednesday.

Ms. Lamm-Tennant will be responsible for designing and implementing Guy Carpenter's global business plans and growth strategies, focusing on risk and capital advisory services, new business development and enterprise risk management for the Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. unit. She will be based in New York.

Before joining Guy Carpenter, Ms. Lamm-Tennant was senior vp of General Reinsurance Corp. and the president of General Re Capital Consultants, an independent consulting group. She is also an adjunct professor at the Wharton University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School in Philadelphia.
