HARTFORD, Conn.--Thomas M. Marra has been named president and chief operating officer of the Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., the company announced Monday.
Mr. Marra, who is president and chief operating officer of Hartford Life, assumes his role overseeing both the company's life and property/casualty insurance operations immediately. He succeeds Ramani Ayer as president. Mr. Ayer will continue to serve as chairman and chief executive officer of Hartford.
Hartford also announced that Neal S. Wolin has been appointed president and chief operating officer of the insurer's property/casualty unit. Mr. Wolin, who served as Hartford's executive vp and general counsel, succeeds David K. Zwiener, who has accepted a position as managing director of the Carlyle Group's new financial institutions group.
