Mitchell named as RSA's underwriting director

LONDON—Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Group P.L.C. has appointed Timothy Mitchell to its group executive committee.

Mr. Mitchell joins Royal & SunAlliance from Zurich Financial Services, where he spent nine years in senior underwriting roles. He also spent two years in vice president positions at National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and American Home Assurance Co., both units of American International Group Inc.

As director of group underwriting and claims at RSA, he will direct underwriting and claims strategies. Mr. Mitchell reports to Andy Haste, group chief executive officer at the London-based insurer.
