ZUG, Switzerland—Markus Krall, chief risk officer of Converium Holding Ltd., has decided to leave the company by June 30.

In a statement, the Zug, Switzerland-based reinsurer said that Mr. Krall was leaving for personal reasons.

The company will seek to fill the position internally, according to the statement. No successor has yet been named.

Inga Beale, chief executive of Converium, in the statement thanked Mr. Krall for his contribution to the company, "especially relating to the important process of enterprise risk management where his expertise has been very relevant for Converium."

Converium is set to be acquired by Paris-based SCOR S.A. after the company's board recommended an improved offer made by SCOR last month.
