BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

NEW YORK--The Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. has launched the RIMS Legislative Action Center on its Web site, the New York-based risk management group announced Thursday.

The center--which can be accessed at www.RIMS.org/LegislativeAction--provides information and updates on federal legislative matters of concern to risk managers. This includes the federal terrorism insurance backstop program created by the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, surplus lines reform legislation, and bills that would create an optional federal charter for insurers and brokers. The site also provides links to congressional Web sites.

"RIMS has made it easy for risk professionals to become more active in government affairs," Terry Fleming, member of the RIMS board of directors and director of the division of risk management for Montgomery County, Md., in Rockville, said in a statement announcing the legislative action center's launch. "RIMS Legislative Action Center will provide the risk management industry with the tools necessary to reach out to members of Congress and make their voice heard."
