BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Okla. legislative session ends without tort reform

Reprints

OKLAHOMA CITY--Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry and state lawmakers failed to reach an agreement on tort reform legislation before the Oklahoma Legislature adjourned last week.

The Legislature had approved a broad tort reform bill in April, but Gov. Henry vetoed it (BI, May 7).

Although the Democratic governor and lawmakers reached agreement on many changes to the measure, they failed to resolve all issues--notably those concerning caps on damages--before the legislative session ended.

The Legislature is scheduled to reconvene early next year.
