LONDON QBE European Operations, part of Sydney, Australia-based QBE Insurance Group Ltd., has created a casualty division under the joint leadership of the newly appointed managing directors, Ash Bathia and David Constable.
The unit will be operational from 2008, and will produce £850 million ($1.69 billion)of business, QBE said in a statement. It will be comprised of casualty teams from QBE's Lloyd's of London syndicate 386 and QBE Insurance (Europe) Ltd.
The casualty unit will be divided into four parts: international, specialist liability, U.K./Europe and professional indemnity.
