BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

QBE creates casualty division

LONDON— QBE European Operations, part of Sydney, Australia-based QBE Insurance Group Ltd., has created a casualty division under the joint leadership of the newly appointed managing directors, Ash Bathia and David Constable.

The unit will be operational from 2008, and will produce £850 million ($1.69 billion)of business, QBE said in a statement. It will be comprised of casualty teams from QBE's Lloyd's of London syndicate 386 and QBE Insurance (Europe) Ltd.

The casualty unit will be divided into four parts: international, specialist liability, U.K./Europe and professional indemnity.
