Marsh enters joint venture in Oman

MUSCAT, Oman— Marsh Inc. has entered a joint venture with Zubair Group, a diversified business group in Oman.

Marsh Oman L.L.C. will continue Marsh's risk management and insurance services business from its Muscat base, where Marsh has operated since 1981.

Marsh marked the new operation's start by hosting clients, prospects and associates at the Shangri-La's Barr Al Jussah Resort & Spa in Muscat. Rafael Merry del Val, head of Marsh's south and east Europe, Middle East and Africa operations, said at the event that "risk is a growth industry" and the broker intends to "seize the enormous potential" for its services in Oman.
