GREENWICH, Conn.--W.R. Berkley Corp. is forming Select Specialty Manager L.L.C. to offer casualty products for the excess and surplus lines marketplace.
The new underwriting unit, to be based in Chicago, will write a broad array of coverage including professional liability, products liability and general liability, a W.R. Berkley spokeswoman said.
Greenwich, Conn.-based W.R. Berkley said in a statement Friday that it named Joseph G. Shores as president of the new unit. Mr. Shores has more than 19 years of experience in insurance, including work in specialty, professional liability and excess coverages.
