CRM reflects rigorous courses

Posted On: Apr. 29, 2007 12:00 AM CST

The Certified Risk Managers International designation offered by the Austin, Texas-based National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research consists of five, 21/2-day courses.

Earning the CRM designation requires passing rigorous exams in five areas: principles of risk management, control of risk, analysis of risk, finance of risk and the practice of risk management.

In 2004, the National Alliance announced a scholarship, the Lance J. Ewing RIMS and CRM Fellowship, to be awarded exclusively to Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. members. The scholarship was established to recognize Mr. Ewing's leadership and accomplishments. He was an early recipient of the CRM designation, now in its 10th year.

Mr. Ewing's accomplishments also include representing the CRM program on the National Alliance's Certified Insurance Counselor board. He also is a National Alliance faculty member teaching the practices of risk management.
