Lexington opens P/C underwriting office in Bermuda

HAMILTON, Bermuda--Lexington Insurance Co. has set up a property/casualty insurance underwriting office in Hamilton, Bermuda.

New York-based Lexington, a unit of American International Group Inc., said Wednesday in a statement that its new Bermuda office will offer property coverages including earthquake and hurricane catastrophe coverage, and property terrorism coverage.

Lexington Bermuda also will offer primary employment practices liability coverage, and the unit will begin writing certain casualty products later this year, Lexington said.
