UnitedHealth names chief legal officer

MINNETONKA, Minn.--Tom Strickland has been named to the new position of chief legal officer of UnitedHealth Group Inc. effective May 28, the insurer announced.

Mr. Strickland currently is the managing partner of the Denver office of Hogan & Hartson L.L.P., a law firm that represents the Minnetonka, Minn.-based health insurer.

Previously, Mr. Strickland served as the U.S. attorney for the District of Colorado from 1999 through 2001.
