PartnerRe names deputy CEO

PEMBROKE, Bermuda--Costas Miranthis has been promoted to deputy chief executive officer of PartnerRe Global, the Bermuda-based reinsurer said Wednesday.

In the newly created role, Mr. Miranthis--who since 2002 has served as chief actuarial officer at PartnerRe--will be responsible for managing the reinsurer's property/casualty, specialty and life operations outside the United States. He will report to Bruno Meyenhofer, CEO of PartnerRe Global.

Additionally, Mr. Miranthis will join PartnerRe's executive committee, the company said in a statement.

The appointment is effective in July.

"I am very pleased to promote Costas to this position," PartnerRe President and CEO Patrick Thiele said in the statement. "His strong leadership skills and business experiences position him well for his new operational responsibilities in our global operations."
