The Spencer Educational Foundation, administered by the New York-based Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc., was created by the Atlanta RIMS Chapter in 1979 in honor of the late Robert S. Spencer, who was president of RIMS in 1977/78.

Mr. Spencer, the former vp-insurance at Fuqua Industries Inc. in Atlanta and who died in 1979, was an outspoken advocate of the risk management profession.

Spencer will elect a new chairwoman and president at the April 30 board of directors meeting during the RIMS conference. They are Donna L. Galer, now retired and formerly executive vp with Zurich Financial Services; and Roger Andrews, director of risk management, E.D. Bullard Co. in Cynthiana, Ky.
