Aon launches facultative reinsurance unit

LONDON— Aon Re Global, a unit of Chicago-based Aon Corp., has launched a formalized facultative reinsurance unit, Aon Re Global Fac.

Elliot Richardson, who along with a team of colleagues, has joined Aon from London-based Benfield Group Ltd., is chief executive officer of the unit.

"The addition of several new colleagues of the very highest caliber to our team opens up new opportunities for our clients, expanding the scope of what we are able to achieve on their behalf," said Michael O'Halleran, chairman and CEO of Aon Re Global, in a statement.
