Willis Re opens Seattle office

SEATTLE--Reinsurance broker Willis Re Inc. has expanded its operations to Seattle and has hired a former Guy Carpenter & Co. Inc. executive to run the new office.

Doug May, former managing director of Guy Carpenter in Seattle, has joined Willis Re as executive vp, bringing with him "considerable property expertise," Willis Re said Monday.

"The opening of our Seattle office will ensure we are well-positioned to expand our presence in the Northwest and the West Coast generally," said Paddy Jago, chief executive officer of London-based Willis Re, in a statement.
