XL finance chief to join AIG

NEW YORK--Jerry M. de St. Paer is leaving his post as chief financial officer of XL Capital Ltd. to join American International Group Inc. as senior vp-finance, AIG announced Thursday.

Mr. de St. Paer, who has been executive vp and CFO of XL since 2001, also has served in the Hamilton, Bermuda-based company's so-called office of the CEO since that body was established last year (BI, June 19, 2006).

Mr. de St. Paer will join AIG next month and will report to Steven J. Bensinger, executive vp and CFO of the New York-based insurer.
