New job title: Senior vp, property/casualty with Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Co. in Milwaukee.
Start date: Feb. 7
Previous position: Senior vp, property practice leader with Marsh Inc. in Milwaukee.
Reason for the change: I switched jobs for a better opportunity to focus on the needs of my clients and potential clients.
Vital statistics: I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in fire protection and safety engineering. Before Marsh, I worked at Kemper, Hartford Specialty and AIG (Starr Tech), with duties including loss prevention, underwriting, marketing, new business development and management.
Goals for new position: My goals are to assist HRH in becoming the pre-eminent property/casualty brokerage/risk management consulting firm in Wisconsin by maintaining our focus on our clients and delivering the best resources and solutions to them.
First time in the job market: My first-ever job was working at a pharmacy in high school.
Top advice: The best advice I ever received was from Jess Pinson, at Starr Tech in Dallas, who hired me from college: When meeting someone, always be sincere, look them square in the eye and have a solid handshake. After that, anything is possible.
Outside the industry, a dream job: My dream job outside of insurance would be to discover/manage new talent in the music industry.
