Guy Carpenter makes executive changes

NEW YORK—David Priebe is moving out of the president and chief executive officer positions at the European arm of Guy Carpenter & Co. L.L.C. to head the reinsurance intermediary's Global Specialty Operations, the Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. unit announced Monday among a series of executive appointments.

Mr. Priebe, who is based in New York, will be responsible for Guy Carpenter's 16 specialty practices, its Instrat modeling and actuarial unit, and its business development unit.

Two executives were appointed to succeed Mr. Priebe at Guy Carpenter & Co. Ltd. in London, where he headed the company's U.K. and Continental European operations.

Andrew Marcell has been appointed CEO of Continental European operations and head of business development and specialty practices in both the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Most recently he was head of Guy Carpenter's worldwide casualty practice.

Nick Frankland takes over as CEO of U.K. operations. Previously he was deputy CEO of U.K. operations.

Both executives will report to Geoffrey Bromley, chairman of Carpenter's Europe and Asia Operations.

In addition, Michael Handler has been appointed non-executive chairman of Guy Carpenter's Continental Europe operations. Previously he was regional manager of the brokerage's Continental Europe operations.
