Swiss Re sells London HQ

Swiss Reinsurance Co. has agreed to sell its iconic London headquarters to an affiliate of the real estate company IVG Immobilien A.G. for £600 million ($1.18 billion). The 30 St Mary Axe building, nicknamed "The Gherkin," was designed by London-based architectural firm Foster & Partners and opened in 2004. Swiss Re will remain the principal tenant.
