Eckert to retire from ZFS

ZURICH, Switzerland--Peter Eckert is retiring as group chief operating officer of Zurich Financial Services Group, effective Feb. 28.

Mr. Eckert first joined the group in 1980 as chief executive officer of Zurich's Portuguese subsidiary and has held various positions with the company since. He was named group chief operating officer in 2002.

A spokesman could not be reached for comment regarding Mr. Eckert's replacement.
