Allianz estimates Kyrill losses of $453 million

MUNICH, Germany—Allianz S.E. said it expects net pre-tax claims of about €350 million ($453 million) from Winter Storm Kyrill.

The Munich, Germany-based insurer said the bulk of claims came from Germany, where about 230,000 claims totaling around €180 million ($233 million) are expected, but that it also has received claims from Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the United Kingdom.

The majority of claims submitted are for property damage, Allianz said.
