Zurich opens in Belgium and Italy

DUBLIN, Ireland—Zurich Insurance Ireland Ltd. has opened branches in Belgium and Italy.

ZIIL, the European Union-wide risk carrier for Zurich Financial Services' nonlife insurance business, now has representation in Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom, as well as its Dublin headquarters.

ZFS said that, under the third EU Nonlife Insurance Directive (92/49/EEC), which enables the freedom to provide services, "ZIIL will be instrumental in driving bottom line profitability for Zurich's corporate business.
