Lloyd's capacity tops $31 billion
Posted On: Jan. 16, 2007 12:00 AM CSTLONDONLloyd's of London's opening capacity for 2007 is £16.1 billion ($31.7 billion), up 9% compared with opening capacity for 2006, it announced.
The largest direct capital providerscorporate-owned members of Lloyd's for 2007 are Catlin Group Ltd., which is providing £1.09 billion ($2.14 billion), QBE Insurance Group Ltd. through its Limit Underwriting Ltd. managing agency, with £1.02 billion ($2.01 billion), and Amlin P.L.C. with £1.00 billion ($1.97 billion).
The largest managing agents for 2007, are Limit, with a 7.0% market share, Catlin with a 6.8% market share, and Amlin with a 6.2% market share.
Those individual investors at Lloyd's who underwrite with unlimited liabilityknown as Nameshave a 6.8% market share of opening capacity for 2007, down from a 9.7% share in 2006, while individual members with limited liability have a 8.7% market share of opening capacity, up from a 6.8% share in 2006.
