CIGNA International names health care head

PHILADELPHIA--CIGNA International has appointed Robert Hughes head of its health care benefits unit.

Mr. Hughes, formerly chief financial officer of CIGNA International, will lead the HealthCare Benefits business group, reporting to CIGNA International President Paul Hartley. He is replacing Andrew Mellen, who is retiring.

Tim Buckley will succeed Mr. Hughes as CIGNA International's CFO. Mr. Buckley, who served as CFO for several business units of General Electric, will report to Mr. Hartley and Michael Bell, executive vp and CFO for Philadelphia-based CIGNA Corp.

Both appointments are effective immediately.
