French broker Verlingue buys Finch Group

PARIS— French broker Verlingue has acquired U.K. brokerage Alec Finch Group Ltd. for an undisclosed amount, the two companies announced Thursday.

Both brokerages specialize in covering enterprise risks. The enlarged group, with offices in London, Paris and eight regional centers, will employ 600 people and generate premiums in excess of £400 million ($779 million), according to a statement by Finch.

The acquisition means Verlingue will enter France's top ten largest brokers, according to industry analysts.
