Best upgrades Arch Europe to A

LONDON—A.M. Best Co. has upgraded the financial strength rating of Arch Insurance Co. (Europe) Ltd. from A- to A.

Best said that the rating movement reflected the upgrade of Hamilton, Bermuda-based Arch Reinsurance Ltd. from A- to A.

Arch Re provides support to Arch Europe through an 85% quota-share arrangement.

Best said the upgrade also reflected Arch Europe's "excellent standalone risk-adjusted capitalization."
