LONDON—The United Kingdom's Competition Commission has cleared the acquisition by Hampden Agencies Ltd. of the Lloyd's of London members' agency business of CBS Private Capital Ltd.

The acquisition reduced the number of members' agencies from three to just two - Hampden and Argenta Private Capital Ltd.

In its final report the Competition Commission concluded that the acquisition has not resulted, and may not be expected to result, in a substantial lessening of competition in relation to the supply of members' agency services to active individual members of Lloyd's. The report confirms the Commission's provisional findings report, published on 1 November 2006.
