Glacier gets licenses for Ecuador and Colombia

PFÄFFIKON, Switzerland—Glacier Reinsurance Co. has received licenses to conduct reinsurance business in Ecuador and Colombia.

Glacier said it planned to write property, aviation, marine, energy, and war and terrorism business—its major lines—in the two countries.

"We are extremely pleased that the relevant authorities have granted Glacier Re these licenses," Robbie Klaus, chief executive officer and chief underwriting officer of Glacier Re, said in a statement. "This will enable us to further diversify our global portfolio and extend our customer base in Latin America."
