LONDON—London-based Hiscox P.L.C., has announced the opening of new offices in Sweden and Portugal as part of its ongoing expansion outside of the United Kingdom into mainland Europe.

As with Hiscox's existing mainland European offices, the two new offices in Stockholm and Lisbon will target high-net-worth consumers in the fine art and private client market.

Hiscox Portugal will be led by Gonçalo Baptista, while Hiscox Sweden will be headed by Mats Heggestad. Hiscox was a traditional Lloyd's agency focused on the London and U.K. market only 11 years ago.

It began its European expansion in 1995 and after the addition of the Portugese and Swedish offices will have offices in 12 cities, including Amsterdam, Bermuda, Brussels, Dublin, Guernsey, Madrid, Munich, Cologne, New York, Paris, Lyon, Stockholm and Lisbon.

It also has six U.K. regional offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Colchester, Glasgow, Leeds and Maidenhead.

In late October Hiscox revealed that it had received shareholder approval to redomicile to Bermuda.

The group now seeks approval from the High Court on December 11 and plans to list its new shares on the London Stock Exchange on December 12.
