Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. has named

M. Michele Burns chairwoman and chief executive officer of the New York-based company's Mercer Human Resource Consulting unit. Ms. Burns, who had been MMC's chief financial officer, succeeds Michael Caulfield, who is retiring.

Matthew Bartley, who has been MMC's treasurer, will succeed Ms. Burns as CFO.
Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. has appointed

Gregory E. Deavens as senior vp and CFO for the company's U.S. Insurance Group in Springfield, Mass. Previously, he headed the financial planning and analysis, expense monitoring and control, and the rating agency relations function for New York Life Insurance Co.
C. Russell Fletcher is joining Hamilton, Bermuda-based White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd. as president and CEO of the company's White Mountains Re Underwriting Services Ltd. (Bermuda) reinsurance underwriting advisory unit. Among other positions, Mr. Fletcher previously served as chief underwriting officer at Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd.
Willis Group Holdings Ltd. has named

Tom Ealy chief operating officer of its New York-based Willis North America unit. Mr. Ealy has been with Willis since 2002, among other things most recently leading the company's Chicago office. He replaces Don Bailey, who in September was appointed CEO of Willis North America.
Atlanta-based Crawford & Co. has appointed

W. Bruce Swain CFO and executive vp. Mr. Swain, who previously served as senior vp and controller at Crawford, had been interim CFO since John F. Giblin resigned earlier this year.
J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., president and CEO of Itasca, Ill.-based Arthur J. Gallager & Co., has been named to the additional post of chairman. As chairman he succeeds his uncle, Robert E. Gallagher, who died in August.
Gregory T. Doyle has been named CEO of CastlePoint Reinsurance Co. Ltd. and president of Hamilton, Bermuda-based CastlePoint Holdings Ltd. Mr. Doyle replaces Michael H. Lee as president of the holding company, with Mr. Lee remaining chairman and CEO of CastlePoint Holdings. Mr. Doyle most recently served as president of Presidential Re Insurance Advisors. Mark Dale has been named president of the company's CastlePoint Management Corp. program business unit. Mr. Dale previously had been a senior vp at Great American Custom Insurance Services Inc.
Cheryl-Ann Lister, chairman and CEO of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, will step down from those posts when her current contract expires at the end of the year. Ms. Lister has served as chairman of the financial services regulatory body since 1999 and was named to the additional post of CEO in 2002. The BMA's board is seeking a successor.
London-based insurance and reinsurance broker Cooper Gay (Holdings) Ltd. has named

James Summers CEO of its Lloyd's of London brokerage unit, Cooper Gay & Co. Ltd. Mr. Summers previously worked at the director level at several London brokers.
Indianapolis-based WellPoint Inc. has named

John S. Watts Jr., currently president and CEO of national accounts, president and CEO for commercial and consumer business effective Nov. 1. He will oversee individual, local group and national business.
Jeanne Carlson has been named president and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's Blue Care Network and senior vp of BCBSM subsidiary operations. Ms. Carlson, who had been COO for Blue Care Network, succeeds Kevin Seitz, who was named executive vp of health care value enhancement at Detroit-based BCBSM.
Deborah Moessner has been named president of Louisville, Ky.-based Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Kentucky. Previously, she was vp of group sales. She replaces

Jude Thompson, who has been promoted to president of the individual under 65 market for Anthem Inc., the parent company of Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield.
St. Louis-based Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Missouri has named

Dennis Matheis as president. He previously was vp and general manager of group business.
Mark Wagar has been named president of Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield in New York. Mr. Wagar, previously a senior vp and market leader for the company's national accounts in the Northeast, replaces

Jason Gorevic, who has been promoted to senior vp, chief marketing and product officer for WellPoint Inc., the parent company of Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Lockton Cos. Inc. has named

Ron Lockton president of its Kansas City, Mo.-based property/casualty operations. Mr. Lockton, son of late brokerage founder Jack Lockton and the nephew of Chairman David Lockton, formerly was senior executive vp.
Washington-based Touchstone Consulting Group Inc. has named

David Peck as president. Previously, he was chief actuary of the benefits consulting firm.
Also at Touchstone, Gene Power has been promoted to managing director. Previously, he was head of the health and welfare practice.
The Graham Co. has named Robert J. Scullin sales manager for the property and casualty division in Philadelphia. Previously, he was a vp and producer. He retains the vp title.
Frank D'Ambrosio and Jack Camillo have been named executive vps of Willis Group Holdings Ltd.'s energy practice in New York. Mr. D'Ambrosio formerly was senior vp and offshore property manager for Marsh. Mr. Camillo was the manager of Marsh's marine and energy casualty department.
New York-based Krauter & Co. has made several senior level appointments:

  • Ben C. Schull has been named executive vp in the Chicago office. He previously was a managing director at Equity Risk Partners.

  • Linda Kahlor Wright has joined Krauter & Co.'s San Francisco office as senior vp. Previously she was a vp in Aon Corp.'s construction services group.

  • John Lafakis has been named a managing director and producer for large account property and private equity firms in New York. Previously, he was a senior vp for Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc.

  • Stephanie Needham has been named senior vp. Before joining Krauter, she co-managed the executive liability department at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

Chicago-based Aon Corp. has announced several senior-level staff changes at its Agency Specialty Product Network Inc. subsidiary. Patrick Rastiello, senior reinsurance broker at Aon Re, will become president and chief executive officer of ASPN effective Jan. 1, 2007. And two regional vps, Bill Hildebrand and Mark McCrary, both have been promoted to senior vp/regional manager.
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based SunCoast Holdings Inc. has promoted Timothy Ermatinger to executive vp and chief operating officer. Most recently, he was senior vp of strategic planning.
Lyn Rossano has joined the Columbia, Md., office of William Gallagher Associates as senior vp in the property/casualty area. She previously led the national life science practice for Willis Group Holdings Inc.
ACE Ltd. has appointed Jorge Luis Cazar as president and CEO of ACE Latin America in Miami. Mr. Cazar, who will begin his new assignment in the first quarter of 2007, is currently senior vp of accident and health for ACE Asia Pacific in Singapore.
Reno, Nev.-based Employers Insurance Group Inc. has named Teresa Shappell as senior vp and chief strategy officer. Previously, she was chairman of Shappell Inc.
Arthur J. Gallagher Ltd.'s Gallagher Re has named Steven Fallon as chief actuary for its U.S. operations in New York. Before joining Gallagher Re, he was a principal at Mercer Oliver Wyman.
Also at Gallagher Re, Geraldine Del Prete has been named senior executive vp to lead the firm's U.S.-based property and casualty treaty capabilities in New York. She previously was executive vp with Willis Re.
Denver-based Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Colorado has named John Martie as president and general manager. Previously, he was regional vp for Anthem's southern Ohio sales unit.
Aon Consulting has appointed Edouard Merette as CEO of Aon Consulting Asia Pacific in Singapore. Previously, he was president, Asia Pacific, for Mercer Human Resource Consulting.
Ann Barr has joined Buck Consultants L.L.C.'s Berwyn, Pa., office as director in the retirement practice. Before joining Buck, she was implementation manager with Mercer Human Resource Consulting.
Newark, Calif.-based Risk Management Solutions Inc. has named Bill Keogh to the position of group executive, global client development. Previously, he was senior vp of RMS America's client sales and service region.
Also at RMS, Matthew Grant has been named chief markets officer. Before his promotion, he was responsible for RMS clients outside the United States and Bermuda.
Kansas City, Mo.-based Lockton Cos. Inc. has named Pam Enright director of international benefit services. Before joining Lockton, she was Midwest regional sales director at Aetna Global Benefits.
Hub International Ltd. has named
John P. Graham as chief financial officer in Chicago. Previously, he was a senior vp finance, treasurer and assistant secretary at Career Education Corp.
Chicago-based Aon Corp. has appointed Baljit Dail global chief information officer, where he will have direct responsibility for all information technology functions across Aon. He will continue to serve as executive vp and global chief administrative officer for Aon Consulting.
ACE Ltd. has named John Stanway as its U.K. and Ireland regional major risks casualty manager in Manchester, England. He joins ACE from Chubb Corp., where he was most recently regional casualty manager.
Beazley Group P.L.C. has named Neil Brown as the senior underwriter for its central region, based in Chicago. Previously, he was an underwriting director for Midwest broker operations at Liberty Mutual Property.
Andrew R. McCulloch has been named president of the Northwest region for Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. Before joining Kaiser, he was president and chief executive officer of Community Mercy Health Partners.
Willis Group Holdings Ltd. has appointed Richard Donahue as senior vp, director of claims and loss control in its New Hampshire operations for the MountainGuard Program in Portsmouth. Before his promotion, he was a claims specialist.
Also at Willis, Joe Beesack has been named senior vp in the alternative risk solutions practice in Toronto. Before joining Willis, he was a senior vp and chief analytical officer at Aon Reed Stenhouse Inc.
New York-based Guy Carpenter & Co. Inc. has appointed Ken Farricker as senior vp in its global surety specialty practice. Prior to joining the reinsurance brokerage, he was a vp at American International Group Inc.
David A. George, former president of AdvancePCS, has been named chief executive officer of Atlanta-based Cypress Care Inc.
Kenneth W. Felton has been named senior vp and national clinical risk management consultant for Glen Allen, Va.-based Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Co. Previously, he was health care practice leader for Webster Insurance Inc.
Cherry Hill, N.J.-based Commerce Banc Insurance Services has appointed Thomas Nolan as senior vp. Previously, he was vp and account manager for The Graham Co.
Richmond, Va.-based Markel Corp. has promoted John Latham to senior vp in operations. Replacing Mr. Latham as chief information officer will be David Egbert, currently Markel's chief technical officer.
