Mesirow acquires Dann Insurance

CHICAGO—Diversified financial services firm Mesirow Financial has acquired Dann Insurance as part of its Insurance Services Division.

Under the transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, the principals of Dann Insurance--Scott Dann, Julie Dann and Marvin Rotstein--became senior managing directors and shareholders of Mesirow Financial.

The 80 professionals of Dann Insurance will continue operating from Dann's Bannockburn, Ill., location.

Chicago-based Mesirow said the acquisition enhances the company's services in property/casualty, employee benefits and life and disability insurance in both commercial and personal lines and for public entities.

Since 1980, Mesirow Financial has made more than 50 strategic additions to enhance the capabilities of its various business units, and its Insurance Services Division has tripled in size since 2002.
